To birth a baby, you have to be willing to let yourself shatter. To birth yourself, you have to be willing to face what you find.
I am currently taking new clients.
My Background
I have been a student of yoga and other movement arts for over twenty years, and in that time I have encountered innumerable techniques for healing. I believe that healing is a creative practice, it requires courage, vulnerability and faith in oneself. These are often the qualities that my clients are seeking to restore.
My primary teaching influence has been Hala Khouri, who introduced me to Somatic Experiencing. This technique was developed as an alternative/supplement to traditional talk therapy. SE puts us in touch with our visceral experience (‘felt sense’) of self and offers simple, sensation-based techniques to re-wire behavioral patterns and trauma to restore a sense of wholeness. This technique, combined with the teachings of Tantra and Ayurveda are the foundation of my teaching philosophy.
I am a full-spectrum Ayurvedic doula (pre-conception through postpartum, including loss), a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in-training, and a Somatic Sex Educator. I have studied the art of female pelvic care with noted experts Kimberly Ann Johnson, Pamela Samuelson, Caffyn Jesse, and Tami Lynn Kent, utilizing touch and consent-based communication to address undigested emotions, unexpressed desire, trauma, longing and ancestral wounds. With these tools, I support women (and sometimes their partners) in living, loving, and creating from their felt sense of center.
